About us

The Research Group of Optical Sensors and Biosensors is formerly part of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Paraíba (IFPB), founded in 2015. The group has over 5 members (professors, masters and bachelors students).

We research

Our efforts are concentrated in:
  • Surface Plasmon Resonance
  • Surface Plasmon Resonance

We investigate how to enhance sensibility of sensors based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technique. Using new structures and materials.

  • Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance
  • Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance

We research about the application of localized surface plasmon resonance technique in the sensors and biosensors.

  • Photonic Crystal Fiber
  • Photonic Crystal Fiber

We investigate how the photonic crystal fiber (PCF) can improve the sensibility of sensors based on the SPR and techniques.

  • Photonic Crystal Fiber
  • Optical Biochip

We research and develop optical biochips based on optical fibers using the SPR and LSPR techniques.

  • Raman Spectroscopy
  • Raman Spectroscopy

We use the enhanced Raman Spectroscopy technique to analyze chemical and biological samples.
